Tech News: Safari 4 (Beta) Launched
" Apple has released a new beta version of its Safari 4 Web browser with technology that the company claims makes it the world's faster browser. Apple says it's built on a new Nitro JavaScript engine that can execute code up to 30 times faster than IE 7 and more than three times faster than Firefox 3. And what about Safari 3? The Nitro engine in Safari will run JavaScript 4.2 times faster than the previous Safari build.
There's more than just a JavaScript speed boost. Safari 4 runs on both PCs and Macs, and it brings innovations from Mac OS X and even the iPhone to the browser.
For example, Safari 4 utilizes Apple's Cover Flow interface for flipping through a Web history or bookmarks. It makes Web pages appear in a layout similar to the Cover Flow interface Apple first introduced with the iPhone and added to Mac OS X for browsing through files.
Plus, there's a new Top Sites feature, which shows off a visual preview of frequently visited pages, displaying them as though the pages were all displayed on a wall full of monitors. "

Lancer Evolution X
The Lancer Evolution X sedan features a newly designed 4B11T 2.0 L turbocharged, all-aluminum inline-4 engine. Power and torque depend on the market but all versions have at least 280 PS (205.9 kW; 276.2 hp). Two versions of the car are offered in the U.S. The Lancer Evolution MR, with 6-speed Twin Clutch Sportronic Shift Transmission (TC-SST). The other version is the GSR which has a 5-speed manual transmission system. The car has also a new full-time all-wheel drive system named S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control), an advanced version of Mitsubishi's AWC system used in previous generations. The S-AWC uses torque vectoring technology to send different amount of torque to any wheel at any given time.
It also features Mitsubishi's new sequential semi-automatic six speed Twin Clutch SST twin-clutch transmission with steering-mounted magnesium alloy shift paddles. A 5-speed manual gearbox is also available. Mitsubishi claims that the 5 speed manual transmission has always been preferred in rallying and should be very refined, resulting in a more satisfying drive. The new Lancer Evolution incorporated Mitsubishi's next generation RISE safety body.
