Tech News: Safari 4 (Beta) Launched

" Apple has released a new beta version of its Safari 4 Web browser with technology that the company claims makes it the world's faster browser. Apple says it's built on a new Nitro JavaScript engine that can execute code up to 30 times faster than IE 7 and more than three times faster than Firefox 3. And what about Safari 3? The Nitro engine in Safari will run JavaScript 4.2 times faster than the previous Safari build.

There's more than just a JavaScript speed boost. Safari 4 runs on both PCs and Macs, and it brings innovations from Mac OS X and even the iPhone to the browser.

For example, Safari 4 utilizes Apple's Cover Flow interface for flipping through a Web history or bookmarks. It makes Web pages appear in a layout similar to the Cover Flow interface Apple first introduced with the iPhone and added to Mac OS X for browsing through files.

Plus, there's a new Top Sites feature, which shows off a visual preview of frequently visited pages, displaying them as though the pages were all displayed on a wall full of monitors. "

----> I picked this news coz I'm using Safari.^.^ Just want to share this to everyone. Maybe you might be interested in using this browser coz from my personal experience, it's really a bit faster than the other browsers.^.^

SpyBall

Spyball is a mobile webcam that rolls on wheels that can perform nimble 360 degree turns or can transform into a ball for even greater stealth. It’s a fun way to explore your home and spy on family members or pets. Any WiFi enabled device that can connect to an 802.11 b (but not g) network device can access Spyball’s camera to view either live video or still images. The spy bot comes with a microphone too but does not have a speaker, so you can listen in remotely but not talk back. You don’t need to use the Internet to access Spyball since you can make direct ad hoc connections to it via Wifi, but you can if you want to for true global remote access and viewing.

Features

  • Can change into a ball or a wheel based camera fluidly on your command

  • Direct connection to it via a WiFi ad hoc connection from within your home network is possible without requiring an Internet connection the complications of setting one up. However, if you do desire remote access and viewing capability over the Internet, Spyball can be configured to do that too.

  • Accessible from PC’s, many video game consoles, and a variety of cell phones.

  • Takes still images and send them to you as well as sending you streaming video

  • Capable of making fast 360 degree turns giving it full mobility.

  • Has a microphone for listening in remotely.

  • Streams live video and audio to you either over a local ad hoc connection or from across the Internet

Lancer Evolution X

The Lancer Evolution X sedan features a newly designed 4B11T 2.0 L turbocharged, all-aluminum inline-4 engine. Power and torque depend on the market but all versions have at least 280 PS (205.9 kW; 276.2 hp). Two versions of the car are offered in the U.S. The Lancer Evolution MR, with 6-speed Twin Clutch Sportronic Shift Transmission (TC-SST). The other version is the GSR which has a 5-speed manual transmission system. The car has also a new full-time all-wheel drive system named S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control), an advanced version of Mitsubishi's AWC system used in previous generations. The S-AWC uses torque vectoring technology to send different amount of torque to any wheel at any given time.

It also features Mitsubishi's new sequential semi-automatic six speed Twin Clutch SST twin-clutch transmission with steering-mounted magnesium alloy shift paddles. A 5-speed manual gearbox is also available. Mitsubishi claims that the 5 speed manual transmission has always been preferred in rallying and should be very refined, resulting in a more satisfying drive. The new Lancer Evolution incorporated Mitsubishi's next generation RISE safety body.
