A Useful File Extension

Are you familiar with the file extension ISO? Well, I have a book here about file extensions and it says that files with this extension are just regular CD or DVD disc image format that is based on the ISO-9660 standard. Files with the file extension ISO includes exact carbon copy of information on a disc and it is used for making duplicates of CDs and DVDs. “.iso” files contain the records accumulated on the disc as well as the file system information. In short, it is an archive file.

One useful thing of ISO files is making back-ups for CDs and DVDs because as said a while ago, it copies every single data on the disc.  If you think this is just similar to regular copying of files from a disc, well you’re wrong because the header information on the disc is missing in the process. Unlike the ISO file, it restores the original version of a disc.

Those are just little information about the file extension ISO. If you want to find out more about the file extension ISO, maybe you might want to visit fileextensioniso.net. They give credible information about the said archive file.
